Not long after our studio session, I had the opportunity to take my class to the historic Kemper Campbell Ranch in Victorville, California to photograph the Hesperia Wrangler Queens in their “natural environment!” Seeing these young women on horseback and feeling entirely comfortable in their “setting” was wonderful and inspirational. My class enjoyed getting to work with the Queens in a very different way…working outdoors poses different and interesting challenges compared to the very controlled setting of the studio.
